Glass Block Heads-Maison De Verre

Ken Haskin, RA

Architects are strange people. They go to weird places for weird reasons The Maison de Verre, or house of Glass by Pierre Chareau in Paris, France is one of these places. The glass block facade allows for massive amounts of light but still affords total privacy. Although industrial in materials the building is delicate and in some ways Japanese in style because of the simplicity and honesty of construction. Quite a nice place, and a very unique gynecologist office and home. Got architecture?
